When rates dip
U.S. News says May and June bring some of the best discounts, and summer deals are possible even at top resorts, while December to April averages more than $500 a night. In the Medano test dates, mid-December was cheapest at six of ten hotels. See the best time to visit.
Other ways to save
- Pre-book a shared shuttle instead of an airport taxi. See airport transfers.
- Use water taxis for Lover's Beach rather than a full tour: about $15 to $25 round trip.
- Swim at public beaches. All beaches in Mexico are public, so you can use Medano, Chileno and Santa Maria without a resort booking.
