Lover's Beach and El Arco: how to get there and what it costs

The beach under the Arch is reachable only by boat. A water taxi is the cheapest way; a glass-bottom tour adds the sea lions and Pelican Rock.

Lover's Beach (Playa del Amor) sits beneath El Arco at Land's End, where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific. Its Pacific side is Divorce Beach. There is no road or trail; you arrive by water taxi from the Cabo San Lucas marina, about 10 minutes each way, per GoVisit Cabo.

Where to swim

The Sea of Cortez side is protected and generally calm enough for swimming and snorkeling. Divorce Beach is a short scramble over the rocks and faces open Pacific; Cabo Insider says its undertow has killed people. There are no lifeguards and no services.

Tips

  • Go early. It is crowded by late morning, per Mr Playas.
  • Bring water and food. There are no vendors on the beach.
  • Wear sandals, not flip-flops, for the boulders between the two beaches.
  • Agree on a pickup time; return taxis can also be flagged from the beach.
  • Parking near the marina costs about 50 to 100 pesos an hour.
