The official 2026-27 season runs December 15, 2026 to April 30, 2027, according to the SEMARNAT notice reported by What's in Cabo. January to March is usually busiest, and humpbacks are the main attraction. The Los Cabos Tourism Board also lists gray whales and advises booking early.

Book a whale-watching tour
Small boats get closer to eye level; catamarans are steadier and include drinks.
The rules boats must follow
- Keep at least 60 m from humpback and gray whales (80 m for boats 10 m or longer).
- No more than four boats per whale group, for up to 30 minutes.
- No swimming with whales, and never go between a mother and calf.
- No whale watching in the port or within 2 km of the Arch.
- Authorized boats must show a SEMARNAT ID where passengers can see it. Check before you board.

From shore
Pacific beaches such as Cerritos and Migrino often have sightings from the sand, especially in January and February. In town, Solmar Beach is a good place to look.
